LIGHTEN UP - WHY?


Most diet and exercise programs spend an enormous amount of time, energy and money on HOW to do them. "How" is important, but to be successful in changing your lifestyle to maintain your hard work - for the rest of your life ...

You need to find your WHY.

The stronger and bigger the WHY, the better chance you have of making the changes, keeping the changes for life, and having fun doing it. So, before you start any diet and exercise program - find your WHY. It will be much more fun, effective and you won't quit when you hit a bump.

What are some examples of "WHYS?" This is another thing: We can't tell you what your WHY is, but the more passionate you are about YOUR WHY - the more likely you will stick to a HOW-TO program. So, LIGHTEN UP and have some fun. This is the exciting part. Actually, when you take the time to find your WHY - it's easier to LIGHTEN UP.

Here's our WHY:

We want to educate, motivate and walk/run this path with you, so you have more fun in life - forever and a day. Not just during the program. Our excitement comes from showing you how to LIGHTEN UP for life ... and then seeing you mentor and pay it forward to the next person. Now, how cool is that? VERY.

Here are some of the WHYS we've heard of. Rate them on a scale of 1 to 10 , where ONE is a low passion level, and not likely to keep you committed; TEN being a high passion level that makes you want to shout, dance, sing, and stick to it:

  1. Weight Loss - Losing weight is an amazing WHY, and will most likely result in feeling better, looking better, will release dis-eases, and you may live longer. But alone - this is likely to be a 4 or below - it won't sustain you. Before and after pictures help to turn this WHY into a 5 or above. Especially if the pictures include a loved one whom you want to live to see graduate, or walk down the aisle. Or a picture of a place you want to visit, like Alaska!

  2. Anti-Age - can be pretty vague. Get specific. WHY do you want to slow down or reverse the aging process? Make sure you are at a TEN passion level. "I want more confidence, more fun, more feel-good - that's WHY!" Again, before and after pictures motivate us. We love to see results. Especially if the WHY is about going to a reunion and blowing everyone away with how young, slim, vibrant you look ... or a wedding, or some special event. The more emotions you can tie into your WHYS, the more likely you are to stick to it and have fun doing it.

  3. Healthier - this is VERY broad. What does HEALTHIER mean to you? Are you fighting a dis-ease? Are you sick and tired of feeling sick and tired, yet? Do you want to avoid a visit to the hospital? Do you forget things? Again, use pictures to remind you of WHY you want to be healthier. Playing with your children and grandchildren is a great WHY.

  4. Lighter in every way? WHY? What does that look like? Everyone is different, and your WHY will be unique to you. There's no wrong answer here. Just what are you passionate about? That is your WHY. Keep digging for this answer. When you discover it, you will want to shout and dance. Then you will know you have something for you.
