Just Say "NO"

July 30, 2019

The "N" word?  Oh no!  Not the "N" word.

Such a tiny word - only two letters and yet one of the most powerful words on earth.  It is even understood between different languages.

How many things do we do each day, not really wanting to do them, but could not find the courage to say "NO?"  And we do them even though they hurt us?

If we add the following to the equation, we understand better our inability to say no:

"It's easy to say NO, when there is a deeper "YES" burning inside."

By that definition, dear readers, it would behoove us to find our YES.  That deeper purpose that will guide our choices and passions towards joy and fun.

Why this topic?  Because I'm sitting in my room trying to figure out why I'm exhausted and sad.

I decided to make a list of the things that "drove" me to this point of frustration.  Understand that "drove" denotes that I am not responsible for my choices--when I know only too well that I am.  "Not responsible" means I'm powerless; while "responsible" means I have power over my life.  I like the second choice better.

So, here's the challenge of the day:  PRACTICE saying NO.  At least until you have thought out the consequences of not saying no:

1. Overbooking

2. Crashing

3. Resentment

4. Exhaustion

5. Debt

6. Not giving attention to the things already on your plate and harming important relationships - by either not having time for them; or indulging them to the point of harming them or you.

7. Can you think of more?

SO THE GOAL OF THE DAY IS TO JUST SAY "NO"

Breck would be so proud.

BE WELL - BE SAFE - BE HAPPY

It's a Jungle Out There - and we created most of it.
