A Time to Mute the Noise ...

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 King James Version (KJV)

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven ...


And a time to slow down and mute the noise.

You know what noise I'm talking about.


Remember the books by J. K. Rowling - Harry Potter? There was an evil guy in her books named Voldemort. He was so terrible that the other characters would not even say his name, but instead said, "He Who Shall Not Be Named."


This is the way I'm feeling about our current "bad guy," and am blocking, deleting, and refusing to mention the name any further. Because of this "Thing That Shall Not Be Named," we are in lockdown. This is not an easy situation for we Americans, who have been FREE from the moment of our birth - and several generations back. This FREEDOM, which wasn't free, as many paid the price for us to live this way, created great people - Entrepreneurs and like-minded good people.



So here we the people sit, confined to our homes.


"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

We the people born free and full of creative solutions for every condition, except this one. Why is that? Is it because we are told we are being kept safe, for our own good? This has a familiar sound - 911. Ever since then, many freedoms have been removed "for our own good." For our own good? Maybe so. We are facing a dilemma now because we do not know who we can believe. So it appears we are believing anyone who has the worst information: Take Vitamin C and drink tons of water is the best advice and yet we prefer the advice to avoid everyone, lockdown in our homes, and take a malaria drug that could harm you. Stay in your homes, don't go anywhere, especially the beaches and parks. Really?T


The NOISE follows us into the solitary confinement of our homes, finding its way into our very hearts.


How do we mute this noise?


How do we keep from being consumed with the fear being spread which causes depression, anger, or confusion? The hysteria has proceeded too far, so I only know of one way. We, as a country, have turned our backs on the very tenants this country was built on. We have turned our backs on our Father in Heaven - our only true leader. The only one who loves us unconditionally. We have become like Sodom and Gomorrah, and we know how that turned out.


We have grown complacent, even comfortable not using our own common sense.


Now we must take matters into our own hands. We must mute the noise and return to our roots - love for our Father in Heaven. He is the one who established Freedom. He is the one who loves us more than we can comprehend. We can turn this whole thing around if we mute the noise by spending this time becoming reacquainted with Him.


How cool is that?


What tools do we have to accomplish the ability to mute the noise? There are several. And all are designed to change our hearts. Because it will take a complete change of heart to remove the shackles of fear we have allowed to encompass our soul from this current worldwide situation. We actually have the time and opportunity to do this - now.


HOW?


There is personal prayer. Always available for each one of us.


Pray in groups. Teach your families to pray - or let them teach you. Families now have time and opportunity to gather together in numbers. A husband and a wife. POWERFUL.


Read the scriptures. We now have time to read them and pray to understand them. They are more than a history book - more than an instructional manual - the scriptures are LOVE LETTERS.


Listen to uplifting and inspirational MUSIC. Try PANDORA.COM - Remember to focus on uplifting and inspirational. If you aren't familiar with this type of music, try the famous music from the Tabernacle Choir. Perfect pitch. Perfect words to worship our Father. I challenge you not to cry.


There is the power of the Holy Ghost so we may know the truth of all things and not be tossed to and fro by the theories of so-called learned men. Perhaps some do have something worthwhile to impart but we need the discerning power of the Holy Ghost to know when to listen and when to flip the mute button.


There are websites, phone applications, videos, books, materials, and all manner of learning devices. We are fortunate to live in these times with so many ways to learn of Father and His ways. So many ways to stay connected with our family, friends, and spiritual guides.


There are uplifting movies. Sometimes movies can be parables to teach like no other way. My favorites: Netflix.com has spiritual films- but also a lot of YUK in between. I refuse to watch R-Rated movies, and that rules out a lot of what I don't want to view. R-Rated movies are generally not inspirational. The good stuff, you can watch as a family and use as teaching moments.


Amazon Prime Movies has Hallmark, and many of you have made it known to me that you are not fond of these. I love them. Hallmark never has scenes that offend, and they always have a happy ending. Other than Hallmark, you do have to discern which movies invite the Spirit and which don't, but you can find a lot of good stuff to choose from.


PUREFLIX.com - excellent movies made by people who love our Father, His children, and His scriptures.


LIVINGSCRIPTURES.com has movies, videos, documentaries, talks, and can be watched on TV, Computers, and Phones.



HOW TO MUTE THE NOISE - uplifting


  1. Music.

  2. Prayer.

  3. Meditation.

  4. Study and Fill your mind with uplifting and spiritual words.

  5. Drown out the NOISE of this world. Refuse to hear it.

  6. Refuse to add to or join it.



This current situation shall pass.


How can we be sure of that? Because to everything, there is a season, and this season will pass. When you look back on "what happened," be sure you have no regrets about how you behaved. Use this time to grow and become better. We need each other, even though we are being forced to separate from each other. We have been convinced that we are dangerous to each other. Really?


I just watched a movie with a quote that sticks out in my mind: "A Christian is someone who allows Father to love others through us." To be a vessel for Father to love others, we have to MUTE the NOISE going on in our heads. Only we can do that for ourselves. No one else can do it for us, although it does seem a lot of NOISE is being pushed on us. Block it. Reframe it. Replace it with good stuff.
