FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Having struggled with food issues - what to eat, what not to eat, etc. most of my adult life I was surprised to listen to a Medical Medium talk on this subject. He did confirm that everyone in the world struggles with food issues - bar none - and that made me feel better that I am not alone, but then he made this statement:

"It's not about food."

What the heck? If everyone struggles with food issues, how is it NOT about food? He sure gives me food for thought over and over again. Of course, he is someone I trust and can rely on his information, but this statement really threw me for a loop.

In my lifetime, I've witnessed the medical world deny that food had anything to do with our health. It was about diseases, and how much protein we ate. MUST EAT PROTEIN. We cannot survive without protein. We cannot survive without them. They know the key to longevity, health, wellness, and happiness is to eat enough (a lot) protein. So, I tried to be obedient. We all have bought that theory.

Eventually, medicine was losing credibility, so they became experts on food/nutrition. Now food is important, "we are what we eat," as long as we follow their guidelines:

  1. Protein still rules

  2. Vegetables are good

  3. Fruit is bad (causes diseases - especially diabetes)

  4. Carbohydrates are bad

  5. Fat is good

  6. Supplements are necessary (this is grudgingly conceded by medical-science because there is no money for Big Pharma in supplements)

  7. Drugs are still better than food or supplements

  8. And on-and-on ad nauseam - complicating health so much, we need them to translate. That's the plan.

Has anyone noticed by following their advice, we are sicker, fatter, aging faster, undergoing operations, organ and limb removals, cancers, and other viruses are rampant, and most of us suffer from pain, sleep issues, obesity, and the worst situation - their newest invention: Auto-immune diseases. None of this is their fault because it's all ours.

The bottom line is we are not healthier.

Thirty years ago, I did my studies for my Naturopathic degree by focusing on Natural Hygiene. That gave me a lot of food for thought. Especially, when they taught protein causes health issues. Surprisingly, and gratefully, the Medical Medium confirmed that protein is FAT, and eating high quantities of them hurts the liver. The liver runs off carbs, and so does the brain and heart. What? https://www.medicalmedium.com/blog/truth-about-protein

Enter The Medical Medium. He wrote the book on food:

"Life-Changing Foods delves deep into the healing powers of over 50 foods fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices, and wild foods explaining each foods properties, the symptoms and conditions it can help relieve or heal, and the emotional and spiritual benefits it brings.
I also arm you with the truth about some of the most misunderstood topics in health: fertility; inflammation and autoimmune disorders; the brain-gut connection; foods, fads, and trends that can harm our well-being; how angels play a role in our survival, and much more."
So if it isn't about the food, what is it about?

Food, as fuel, obviously contributes to our wellness and/or our dis-eases, but there are "troublemakers" that set us up for success or failure and can break us. It comes down to paying attention to one organ, the LIVER. We have to keep our LIVER healthy because if the liver ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. https://www.medicalmedium.com/blog/are-you-always-hungry

How do we keep our liver healthy?

That is more "food for thought." For now, just take it one day at a time--I'm learning FOOD is not something to conquer, nor is it a shortcoming. It fuels the body and requires the best fuel available. Dis-eases are signals that my liver needs my help and the good news is it can be turned around.
